While the two major parties fight over the suburban white mom vote, groups like Make the Road Action in Pennsylvania are investing in turning out Black and brown voters across the country. Building on the political power and engagement of working class communities of color, including immigrants, organizers with Make the Road Pennsylvania use community outreach and political education to move their members to action.

 As the president continues his treatment for COVID-19 with the benefit of the best medicines and care that taxpayer funding can buy, he has called for “his representatives” to focus solely on confirming his Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett, shelving discussions of additional COVID-19 relief.

The pandemic has pushed National Voter Registration Day partner organizations to think big and outside of the box. Organizations adapted to the current moment, finding innovative ways to engage potential voters while keeping people safe.

Introduced last week, the THRIVE agenda proposes a set of economic policy prescriptions that shift the American imagination of what is possible in legislation. Demanding a bold economic agenda, members of Congress joined a grassroots coalition and labor unions in setting forth the THRIVE agenda in response to the current economic crisis.

Georgia voters may have more time for their absentee ballots to be counted if a recent federal court decision stands. Earlier this week, U.S. District Court Judge Eleanor Ross ruled that absentee ballots postmarked by Election Day and received within three days will count for the general election.

“There are a number of states that have a postmark by standard,” said Nse Ufot, New Georgia Project CEO.
